Introduction to Movement & Stretching

Introduction to Meditation

We'll discuss different options for meditation (ie at home, at a meditative space, moving, sitting, laying, mindfullness, guided etc) and develop personal plans to integrate meditation into our lives in an easy and sustainable fashion.

We will spend 15-20 min each class on the above, and the remainder of the time in the practice of Yoga Nidra, a guided meditation.


Yoga Nidra is form of guided meditation and sleep based meditation. You lay still and allow relaxation and awareness to simultaneously arrive. Yoga Nidra is helpful for a variety of physical, emotional and spiritual disharmonies.


This class will be capped at 8 people.

Body awareness: how are we walking, how are we standing? Are there muscles that we are consistently tightening and holding in a fixed position? How is our breathing?

We will look at developing a more innate awareness of what we are doing with our bodies and how to develop new patterns that can help to alleviate chronic discomfort or anxiety.  We will practice diaphragmtic breathing, body scanning and structural awareness.

Movement: What are some accessible movements that we can use to relieve tension in the body in the course of a normal day?

We will learn simple stretches and movements for each part of the body so you have a "complete body stretching toolkit" available.
